Consecration Sunday
May 4, 2008

CONSECRATION SUNDAY: May 4 all services. This Sunday will prove to be a great Sunday for the ministry of our church and school. The theme for all our worship services will be consecration.

As part of the worship we will acknowledge all those who have stood before the Lord's altar and confirmed God's grace in baptism on the day of their own confirmation. St. Paul has been about the mission of the Lord for 150 years. It will be interesting to see just how many of our past students and confirmands will be there. It will be good to see that so many are still committed to Christ. What a witness to your children! Perhaps they will learn a lesson by watching those in the past who yet remain faithful to the Lord?

During the services, all our current members will take time to consecrate a portion of their resources to the Lord. We must all understand that service and resources are consecrated to the Lord. He, the Lord, has placed in each believer's heart a part that wants to give, to share, to help in His great work of making disciples. We will never actually be satisfied in our Christian walk till we have found our place in service and giving. The ministry of church and school is so much more than just what we "get" as a result of membership.

Our school is very much about the work of making disciples. We daily study and seek to model the Christian life - i.e. discipleship. As we consecrate our selves and resources we additionally provide the resources to make our ministries happen. Did you realize that because of the consecrated efforts of the members of St. Paul the work of our school and education of your child is possible? In days when school tuition continues to rise we can easily lose sight of reality. Every member child who attends our school receives benefit from the offerings that come into the parish weekly. The benefit surpassing the actual amount of the tuition parents pay is more that $3,000 per child annually. Members who worship, help with projects and give of their resources, make the mission of shaping disciples through the important work of our church and school possible.

Take time to be there and participate freely knowing that the Lord will freely provide for you. Worship services are at 9;00 and 10:30. We will have guest speakers and special music on both the traditional and contemporary sides. Ever member family of St. Paul has received all the materials needed to participate in the mail over the past weeks.
