Hymns and their tunes transcend generations. So often our lives and souls are touched by the power and simple beauty of a melody. HOPE FOR THE SPIRIT will invite all to sing, learn about and experience the joy of some of the most beloved hymns. Included in the presentation are favorites, “I Know that My Redeemer Lives”, “Amazing Grace”, “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee”, as well as some hymns you might not have heard before including “On Jordan’s Stormy Banks”, “Have Thine Own Way, Lord”…. and many more!

The program features the choirs of St. Paul – the Senior Choir under the direction of Betty Koch, the Chancel Ringers under the direction of Eleanor Teutsch and the Contemporary Praise Group under the direction of Jodi Stevens.

Many parishioners of St. Paul may remember Matt Ginter, former day school student, organist and bell choir member. Matt is delighted to be returning to present HOPE FOR THE SPIRIT and introduce St. Paul to the Sounds of Hope Project, a music outreach program whose purpose is to comfort, relax and soothe listeners through the production of music CDs. The outreach targets shut-ins, those under hospice care, the hospitalized and those in nursing homes.

Mark the date of Sunday – April 13, 2008 at 3:00pm and join us for an afternoon of hymns that can raise our spirits. The program is free and open to the public.
