Book review of Sarah’s Song by Karen Kingsbury (Book 3 in The Red Gloves Series)
Reviewed by Karyn Snyder January 16, 2007
Sarah is an elderly woman who lives in a nursing home. Every Christmas she has a ritual of hanging paper ornaments on her tree – one for each of the 12 days before Christmas. The ornaments are a reminder of how she found the love of her life. As she remembers she sings a special song she wrote.
This year her ritual is more special because she shares it with a nurse who is having marital problems. Sarah has only 12 days to share her story and her faith in the hopes that this woman will understand the true gift of love.
Sarah’s Song is a simple, can’t put it down novel. It is easy to feel a part of Sarah’s story and look forward with anticipation to the meaning of the next day’s ornament. Readers will cry and rejoice with
Sarah.
