March 7-9: Ohio District Junior High Gathering

Ohio District Youth Gathering Mar. 7-9, 2008
Sawmill Creek Resort (8th Grade)

What is it?

A time to be with 700 junior high students from Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia in a weekend of great games, dynamic speakers, awesome worship, Bible study, swimming, and meeting new friends!

Why should I go?

You’ll have a lot of fun, and grow in your faith and your friendships! (plus you’ll get out of your house for a weekend J!)

What is the cost?

$150 covers the cost of 2 nights in the resort, 4 meals, and all gathering costs. Youth group will pay $25 for a youth, and $75 for our adult chaperones, you cover the rest. You can use the money you raised from youth group fundraisers this year. (plus a few more are coming up to participate in before March.)

How do I sign up?

  • Fill out the registration form and enclose a $65 deposit
  • Registration forms can be found outside of Mrs. O’Hara’s office.
  • (or you can take it out of your youth group account if you have one)
  • DEADLINE IS January 15th! ($25 late fee if you register after that time)
  • We can’t go unless we have chaperones—so ask your parents to help!

Pioneer

Camp Pioneer Confirmation Retreat is a wonderful opportunity to get together with junior high teens from Ohio , Michigan , Canada , New York , and Pennsylvania for a week of fun, fellowship, and faith development. I encourage you to send your teen! Our youth have always had an amazing week at Camp Pioneer . They meet new friends, the counselors are excellent, and they have a week away from computers, video games, and TV, and get a time to relax and refresh themselves in God’s Word! You might think: how can they have fun without all the electronics? Picture your teen enjoying: bonfires, mudpits, canoeing, swimming, ropes course, hiking, reading a good book, chapel in the woods, swinging on swings, crafts, great food, talent show, fun games¦..it is a great time! If you have youth group money from fundraisers, you are more than welcome to use that to offset the cost of the week. (you can also work the Indian’s games for youth group money). Let me know, and I can write a check to Camp Pioneer for you. Camp Pioneer is located west of Buffalo , NY in Angola --less than a 3 hour drive from Westlake . It’s about 45 minutes west of Niagara Falls (a great place to visit while you’re in the area!) All of my own kids have enjoyed Camp Pioneer in the past, and have great memories from the week that they spent there. I encourage you to send your teen._www.pioneercamp.org_ (http://www.pioneercamp.org/) for registrations and information.
