From the Principal’s Paw…….

The Bible Passage of Note –  Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”  This passage is the basis for this school year’s theme of “Sure and Certain.”  Without a doubt it is clear that the Lord saves and that alone we are “Sure and Certain”.  Christians have eternal security in the cross of Christ.

Dates:

• St. Paul Lutheran School Golf Outing is Sunday, September 12^th.  If you would like to join us pick up an entry form in the Church or School Offices.  $60.00 for 9 holes of golf and dinner or $25 for dinner only.  Can’t come sponsor a hole for $50!
• Picture day is September 3^rd and Retake day is on Thursday, September 30^th.  Forms will be passed out Monday, August 30^th – look for them.
• Preschool Begins on Tuesday, September 7^th!  You should receive a letter soon with some details about the first few days of preschool.
• Band begins Friday, September 3^rd! 4th grade band begins Oct. 1.
• Free and Reduced Lunch Applications are due September 24^th.  Applications may be obtained in the school office or from Mr. Lehrke or Mrs. Koch.

Important Information to Note:

• Hopefully you have seen our new “After School Parent Pick Up Guidelines for K-8^th grade”.  If not, please stop by the school office and pick up a copy. 
• Please be aware of our children’s safety in the parking lot.  The most important thing you can do is slow down (5 mph or less).
• Free and Reduced Lunch Applications are due September 24^th.  Applications may be obtained in the school office or from Mr. Lehrke or Mrs. Koch.
• We will be using Snapgrades for our grading system for K-8^th grade.  You should have received a letter to help you set up your parent account.  If you have any trouble please contact the school office for assistance.
• Students are receiving this first edition of “The Tiger’s Roar” to bring home and share.  Communications hereafter will be via emails provided to us on Snapgrades.  It is important to keep the information located on Snapgrades updated as this will be our main source of communication for upcoming events and news.
• Have a fabulous weekend – remember St. Paul has services here at 9 and 10:30 a.m.
• Schedules for Mini Horns Football, Shorthorn Football, Junior High Cross Country, and 7-8^th Girls Volleyball are on the website www.stpaulwestlake.org.

• Triple Threat Music Theatre:

  Starting this Saturday, August 28^th at 9am.  Classes are held in Kleist Center for Art and Drama located at 95 E. Bagley Rd, Baldwin Wallace.  All students in grades 4-9 are welcome to participate.  If you have questions. Please call their office @ 440-826-2365.
