THANK YOU FROM BUILDING HOPE IN THE CITY
Dear St Paul Families,
We wanted to thank you so much for all you have done for the
children of Building Hope in the City. You have touched their
lives greatly. This Christmas they will have a game to play, or
walk to school with a hat and gloves in the cold weather. They
will have a new pair of shoes that fit their feet and chocolate
to eat! These are things that so many of these children do not
have. Thank you for your kindness and for your effort in
putting these bags together. You are very appreciated!

Important Information to Note:
TIGERMATCH 2011:
St. Paul
Lutheran Church & School is blessed in so many ways. Once again
we are blessed as we have received a one-time anonymous donation
for a new matching funds program, “TigerMatch 2011”, to
benefit our school. This program will match $1 for every $2
given up to $16,000 of donations. (matched by up to $8,000) In
light of the struggles we encounter every year when it comes to
school financing, this gives us an excellent opportunity to make
our dollars count towards Christian education for the next
generation. Donations can be made in the church office or the
offering plate by writing “TigerMatch 2011” on any
envelope. You may also donate via credit card/debit card
through the church website under Simply Giving, select “other
donation” category and type TigerMatch in the information box to
the right. We sincerely appreciate your consideration of this
opportunity.
“Each man
should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not
reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful
giver.” ~ 2Corinthians 9:7
We are always looking for special gifts to
assist with the education of our children. If you are gifted
financially and wish to sponsor a student in our school, please
contact Mr. Lehrke or set up an appointment to find out how you
can assist. “Suffer the little children unto me and forget them
not.”
There is
special tax information for parents that is attached to this
newsletter. Please look it over there may be a benefit to
you.
Unique K-12 Tax Relief
Initially enacted in 2001, the
hard-fought Coverdell accounts mark the first and only measure
of federal tax relief that specifically helps parents with the
costs of a child’s education in a private, including religious,
elementary or secondary school. Tax benefits, such as credits or
deductions, to help offset a family’s college costs and
pre-school costs are a staple of the tax code and have been for
some time, but not for K-12 education.
So although the relief provided by
Coverdell accounts is modest—amounting to tax-free earnings on
savings marked for education—its historical significance is
unmistakable. ~ CAPE Outlook Voice of America’s Private

HOST
FAMILIES NEEDED:
In order to
give our students a taste of different cultures, Lutheran High
School West has opened its doors to International students.
Many of these students are from Asian countries, particularly
China. We are looking for host families for the 2011-2012
school year. Host families provide food, housing, and
transportation for the students and are reimbursed $500 a
month to help cover expenses. If you are interested, please
call Dale Wolfgram at 440-333-1660 ext 103. If he isn’t
available, leave a message and he will return your call.

educator will be recognized individually at a surprise

Plain Dealer and Bryant & Stratton College will personally
congratulate the winning educator. In addition to recognition
