Upper Grade Social Studies

Class Objectives

In 8th Grade History, students establish a greater understanding of our nation by studying events and people beginning with the discovery of America (1492) to the conclusion of the U.S. Civil War (1865). A study of the U.S. Constitution is also conducted in which students learn what it means to be a God-fearing citizen of our nation.

In 7th Grade Geography, students explore the 7 continents using maps and the following essential elements; The World in Spatial Terms, Places and Regions; Physical Systems, Human Systems, & Environments and Society.

In 6th Grade Social Studies, students study early civilizations and see how their developments influence our lives today. Legacies of Greece and Rome will be explored, along with the Middle Ages and time periods through the World Wars.

  • Lakeview Cemetery Field Trip
