Here’s Your Sign | John 7:37-39
Sermon Summary:
Is the church a hospital for the sick or a hotel for the holy? Are sinners welcomed into the doors of the church building, or do you need to be “this holy” to enter? How we show either judgement or love to those viewed as “sinners and tax collectors” today makes an impact on if someone ever comes into the building. Join Pastor Josh as he dives deep into the Matthew 9 text and how it applies to us today.
A “pharisee” is someone who is judgemental. And there’s a bit of pharisee in each of us.
We hate the sin, but do we love the sinner?
In loving the “sinner,” we don’t compromise the truth of God’s Word.
There are no conditions for showing love to others.
The law doesn’t change people, the gospel does.
The Pharisees need the same forgiveness as the tax collectors and sinners.
In Christ, I am ready because I’ve been made ready (through faith).
