Is this Seat Taken?

Is this Seat Taken? | Romans 6:12-23

Sermon Summary:

In Romans, Paul sets up a scenario: serving an old master or a new one, sin or Jesus. While the choice might seem obvious to us all, we struggle to follow through on living that out. Join Pastor Josh as he dives into Romans 6 and discusses this problem, and what hope there is for us.

  • “Don’t let sin reign.” Keep sin off the throne of your heart.

  • Those who are dead (in their sin) can ONLY serve their sin.

  • “Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?” “Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace?” By no means!

  • We either make offerings to our old master, or our new one. We have to decide daily.

  • My efforts cannot keep Jesus on the throne of my heart, his do.

  • Jesus is on the throne of my heart. I must daily seek to serve him and not my old master, sin.

In Christ, I am ready because I’ve been made ready (through faith).
