Meant For Good | Genesis 50:15-21

Meant For Good | Genesis 50:15-21

Sermon Summary:

“Why do bad things happen to good people?” “Where was God in this tragedy?” “Why is God allowing this terrible thing to happen to me?” These are all questions asked when trying to make sense of why bad things happen, and where God is during it.

Join Pastor Josh as he looks at the story of Joseph to learn some important lessons about God’s role in and response to bad circumstances we experience.

  • Joseph endured awful circumstances for no fault of his own. He endured them:

    • Because of who he was born to.

    • For doing the right thing.

    • Because of someone else’s mistake.

  • Three things we learn from Joseph’s story:

    • God does not cause evil/bad things to happen in our lives.

  • Bad and evil things happen as a result of sin.

  • God is present and he’s working amidst the tragedies we experience.

  • God works all things together for our good.

  • Our outlook makes a difference in our experience.

  • When we see God working in our circumstances, it changes the way we go about our lives.

  • God is working through our circumstances for his glory, your growth, and the benefit of others.
