Appeased
Pastor Josh

Appeased | Romans 3:19-28

Sermon Summary:

When we have made a big mistake, we often try to do something to “make it up” to the other person to show them how sorry we are: a husband buys his wife an expensive gift, a child is on their best behavior for their parent, a friend does everything their other friend wants to do, etc. But in our relationship with God, those kinds of actions aren’t necessary and in fact, get us nowhere. Join as Pastor Josh dives into Romans 3, as he discusses what appeases God for wrongdoings.

  • God’s law speaks to those under the law, showing us our inadequacies.

  • God’s law cuts out the possibility for any excuse we may have.

  • Propitiation is: appeasing anger with the offering of a gift.

  • God provided the propitiation, providing appeasement of our sins, through the blood of Jesus.

  • I cannot make it up to God for what he’s done for me. He’s pleased with me because of Jesus.
