Return on Investment | Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23

Sermon Summary:

In one of Jesus’ most well-known parables, he compares spreading God’s word to a sower spreading seeds. Jesus says something crazy, though- to spread the seed even in places where it might not grow. Why? Because when we spread God’s word, we don’t know what kind of soil it will land on. Pastor Josh dives into this text from Matthew 13, and seeks to equip us to be ready to spread God’s word to all.

  1. There is a ridiculous nature to Jesus’ parables- something that goes against our normal experiences.

  2. It’s not just “Pastor’s job” to spread the word, it’s mine too.

  3. Living like a Chrisitan isn’t enough to convert people, they need to actually hear the gospel.

  4. “If the seed is not spread, how can it grow?”

  5. I don’t know where the seed lands, it’s just my job to spread it.

  6. When God’s Word is proclaimed, things happen.

In Christ, I am ready because I’ve been made ready (through faith).
