Called to Be a Hearer | Matthew 5:13-16
Sermon Summary:
As Christians, God has called us to submit to our authorities as well as care for the concerns of our neighbors. Yet some people think, “Only if X, Y, or Z circumstances apply do I have to do those things.” Join Pastor Josh as he digs in to what we as Christians are called to do as Christian citizens.
God and his Word have something to say about me as a citizen.
Like Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego, I am to submit to my authorities- even if I don’t
like or agree with them- up until the point that they force me to sin against God.
Authorities are God’s representatives here on earth.
No authority has authority unless it was first given by God.
The concerns of my neighbor are ultimately my concern.
Christians have always been at the front of the line when it comes to helping those in need.
I submit to authority and I care for my neighbor because of God’s love for me.
